"When I contacted Kara I was overweight, on high blood pressure medicine,and so sad from starting and stopping quick weight-loss programs . My grand plan was to lose a TON of weight in 3 months then be DONE! Ha!

Each month , Kara planned a workout that challenged me physically and mentally ...there were push-ups and pull-ups ,high intensity intervals ,weights and core strengthens (with no sit-ups) all the programs were adapted to my ability .The results? I am down 25lbs.,off my blood pressure medicine,and best of all, a new confidence and pride in my new healthy, strong body.

I still have work to do. I will never be "all done"- that is one important lesson Kara has taught me . Taking care of yourself is a life long job !

There is no "TYPICAL" client at FIT.....that's one thing that I love about my work!  I work with young teenagers, 20 and 30-somethings, stay-at-home moms, athletes, senior citizens and MORE!  Men AND women!  Everything is adapted to that person's needs and goals.  Everyone has work to do and we always will...  The common theme is that I provide guidance and accountability for you.  We're in this together!

Kara has the amazing ability to create a dynamic workout plan personalized for each client with challenging, but achievable goals. She realizes the importance of incorporating all aspects of fitness into the workout plan- not just weight training and cardio, but also flexibility, nutrition, and mind/body wellness. . I love that she is super flexible and able modify workouts to wherever I want to be: my home, her studio, the gym, or even outside. One aspect of Kara's training which I enjoy and think is very unique, is that she organizes health/fitness related outings and fun contests; these outings and contests not only help her clients stay engaged and on track with their programs, but also helps them feel like part of a community. 

Finally, Kara is not only a great trainer, but she is also a genuniely nice person. Her fun, easy going, friendly personality creates a comfortable atmosphere which makes workouts fun. You can see Kara's passion for fitness throuth the energy and enthusiams she brings to each session. "Kara and I went to high school together, and have stayed in touch over the years. I participated in sports in junior high and high school, but always had a BMI in the overweight range. I decided to join Weight Watchers after having my daughter, who is now 10, and reached my goal weight after about 6 months on the program. Over the years, I stopped tracking my food intake and didn't exercise regularly, so I gained back all but nine pounds of my original weight loss. A year ago, I recommitted to Weight Watchers and again reached my goal weight. Even though I was happy with the number on the scale, I wanted to strength and tone by body so I wasn't so "jiggly" when I moved around. I also wanted a plan for how to maintain this weight loss. Losing weight is difficult for me, and I don't want to have to go through this process again.

I had watched Kara's business grow over the past few years, so I contacted her to see if she would be interested in training me remotely because I live in Iowa City, Iowa. I have been thrilled with Kara's program. She is very attentive to my questions, and is always motivating me to push myself toward my fitness and nutrition goals.
